1. Remember to Fuel Up

The best thing to do is get the information about how many miles per gallon your car gets, and fill up accordingly depending on the length of your drive. 2. Cash Out While You’re There
Lonely Planet states that Liberia has more banks than any other town in Costa Rica, so it’s a good place to stock up when you need cash. If you end up in more rural areas, of somewhere that doesn’t take credit cards, having the cash will be helpful. Much like fuel, use the resources when you’re already there. You will also have a greater variety of banks, and might be able to withdraw cash from your own if it’s an international institution, avoiding fees. Another issue is the need for currency exchange, which probably doesn’t exist in much smaller locales. When you’re in the city, go ahead and do everything you need to do, before heading out to more obscure destinations.
3. Know Where You’re Going
While the idea of simply setting out on an adventure by driving in a random direction might appeal to vacationers with a wild streak, this isn’t a good tactic in Costa Rica.
