Coco Beach- The perfect spot for a social getaway!

If you are looking for a holiday location which includes sunny beaches, adventurous watersports, friendly locals and a great nightlife; then Coco beach is for you!

Located in Guanacaste, Coco Beach is the perfect spot for those looking for some chill time at the beach while keeping the hustle and bustle of the city. This is actually one of Costa Rica’s most visited beaches given its many restaurants, bars and lodging options.

Coco Beach is known for its deliciously warm weather (usually about 27 °C), brown-ish sandy beaches and gorgeous blue oceans. Although surfing is a big thing, this is not the best spot for this activity as there are no waves or strong currents here. However there are plenty of other forms of entertainment you can take part of.

During the daytime, Coco beach is full of locals and tourists mingling and looking for interesting plans to do. The activities range from full-on adventures to family-day material. Coco beach is surrounded by hills and tropical beaches, so activities like zip lining and ATV rides are always available. In addition, there are some national parks close by, so you can also take advantage of the views and go on a nice beach-hike.

The most popular things to do are obviously at the beach. Depending on your interests, you can choose to scuba dive, play some beach volleyball or simply chilling in the sand sipping your favorite drink. If you are really interested in getting your surf on, you can visit one of the three islands near by which have some really nice surf spots- like for example Witch’s Rock or Ollie’s Point.

There are plenty of delicious restaurant/bars where you can grab some lunch or dinner. Our favorite recommendations are Las Olas, Lizard Lounge, Tiki Coco and La Vida Loca.

The nightlife at Coco Beach is truly one of its main attractions. There are tons of bars, casinos and discos that you can go to and mingle with both locals and tourists. It is tradition to even park on the sidewalk and at the beach, put some music on and drink some cold ones under the night sky.
