Jaco is one of the closest beaches to San Jose and it is widely known for its laid-back attitude, busy beaches and hectic nightlife. So it’s the perfect spot for people looking for some chill time during the day and party life during the night.

There are plenty of hotel options to consider. Prices ranges may vary from a very basic room for about $20-$30 to a luxury five star hotel. There are plenty of activities you can do in Jaco. Anything and everything from kayaking and ATV tours, to white-water rafting and horseback riding. However the number one activity in the area is most definitely surfing. This is by far the number one activity in Jaco and all the near by beaches like Playa Hermosa and Playa Esterillos.

Although most surfers tend to choose the far north or south side, you are able to surf almost the entire beach. Jaco is a great place for beginner surfers as the waves are not too big, but they have a good shape and fun peaks. If you are all ready an experienced surfer, Jaco is a good place to warm up before hitting some bigger waves at near by beaches.

After a great surfing session, there is nothing better than relaxing at the beach with a cold drink enjoying the sunset. Jaco is also known for being a great place for concerts and surf tournaments. So if you plan your trip right, you can end your day sitting on the warm sand, watching the sunset with a cold beer in hand.
