When you come to Costa Rica, you know there are a few places where you just need to visit before you leave! From the most unbelievable volcano’s to the most dense rainforests. Beaches are no exception! And if you ask us what would be your best bet, its simple: the gorgeous Dominical beach!

Located in the Central Pacific coastline, about 44 kms south of Quepos, Dominical is known for its marvelous beaches with lush green forests. Warm weather and cool ocean breezes also characterize the area, making it the perfect vacation spot! Although you don’t necessarily need a 4×4 vehicle to get here, we do recommend one in case you are up for some exploring in nearby beaches.

Being one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches, what’s special about Dominical is its large number of activities you can take part of once you are there! Start off with the fact that Dominical is somewhat of a ‘surfers paradise’. Its strong swells and rip tides make it a challenge for experienced surfers – and they love it!
If you are not into surfing but still dig the water, you may want to consider kayaking, snorkeling or even diving!

If land activities are more your thing, don’t worry – there are plenty of things you can do! For example, visiting the Nauyaca falls is one of the most unbelievable tours you could ever go on! These waterfalls will impress anyone and everyone that’s for sure! Also, you can hike the Marino Ballena National Park or the Hacienda Baru Wildlife refuge and get up close to some of the most exotic flora and fauna you will ever see!

Dominical beach is also popular for some other activities such as horseback riding, canopy tours and deep-sea fishing.

After a long day of fun in the sun, Dominical also offers some of the most delightful dining options. From cheap (but delicious soda’s to fancy 5-star restaurants, you will find that Dominical really knows its way around food!
